In your bag No: 1173, Simon Proctor
Simon shares with us his….Spy kit. No bag in sight as all of this lot is to be concealed about his person when he is stalking the street of Paris, hunting his quarry. Check out this rather special In Your Bag…
hi really love your series about peoples camera bags so i thought i could send you mine
I am a 46 year old Spy currently living in Paris, but originally from XXXXXX.
When i’m not taking pictures of XXXXXX for my job, I like to shoot candid street portraiture, (just a relief for people to actually know i’m there for a change) .
I love both my vintage 110’s. Although the binocular camera can be a little impersonal sometimes.
Some people say 110 films sucks but they don’t know shit and I usually punch them, (but I never leave a mark).
in my bag typically I carry
Minolta compact 110 Zoom SLR camera
Keys
Bundles of money (various currencies)
Habitat multitool (currently on sale, Bargain)
lucky checkerboard cufflink
Valium
Maglite
Walter P99 with custom silencer
Russian NFL doll
Tasco 110 mm binocular Camera
Pair of Intervention Gloves
some of my photos on the internet www.procter.me
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com.
Send me a hi resolution image of the bag. Optimum size is 1500 across. Please ensure there is a bag in the shot, unless you don’t use one. The more you can write about yourself the better, make it appealing and tell us a story.
Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
Cheers
Japancamerahunter
I wish I really knew what was going on in this post.
Why link to procter.me with pictures obviously not taken with said camera(s)?
I hope this is a joke.
William, this has been my #1 complaint for this site. I love the effort Bellamy puts in but many of the people who post often think this is a venue to show off their analog gear. I click on a Flickr link or the like and end up seeing shot after shot taken with their 5D II or D600, etc.
interesting post. certainly gets creative/interesting points. there does appear to be some analog photography in the “personal” section of the website.
i will agree with the others that it is disappointing to be linked to a website that is comprised of mostly digital photography, particularly when we are shown only film gear. we want to see the images created with the tools in the bag.
Well, I enjoyed this post a lot. I also understand and appreciate irony. Images created with this gear can be found one click away under “Personal”. Some very good images there.
Not much of a spy are you, I can’t see keys for an Aston Martin in the shot… ;)
… Although, now I have looked at your site you are clearly pretty handy with a camera!
This is a great bag! Made my day!
Quirky bag. Very cool Simon. Good to see that some still have a sense of humor.
This is great!
I want to be a spy as well?
But I do not know how to start, can I get some lessons please?
Oh I do not have a gun, but I do have a catapult!! will that do?
lewy
Haha that’s old Yugoslavian currency, this spy has time warped from the 1980s, does he even realise? Cameras are cool, off to Evilbay I go…
And I’m Carlos, the Jokel, as they call me
my tools of broken hearts are:
– Rollei 35 S with Kodak 3200 Tmax in my jacket, replacing my heavy old Leica II, summi50
– a little round wallet of coins for anonymous calls
– 4 rolls of 50 1-Dollar-notes
– well sharpened Otten-Mercator-Knife in my boots for silent jobs
– RayBan Pilot Goggles
– my uncle’s basque hat from the Spanish revolution
– a Gun, preferably pre-owned by my latest victim
;-)
have fun,
Best regards,
Carlos.
I think where this post has gone t*ts up, is the fact that he hasn’t shot a series of spy pics to link in with the bags contents taken on his 110 camera.
However I do have to agree that some of the recent bags have just been nothing more than showing off equipment people don’t use!!! Come on now who carries 4-5 cameras in their bag
Great site though even though l’ll never own or touch a Leica. A working bag is what i’m interested in!!!
I will be sending in my bag pics today!!!
Hahaha Yugoslavian currency :D You are the MAN!
Looks more like a hit-man’s bag!
Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
This post jump’d over the shark,
The forum laugh’d to see such spycraft,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Well done! Very funny. Albeit not all can see the funny side.
I lug a 4×5 camera around
even had a rifle pointed at me in India for setting the thing up !! should have got a minox !!
This post is awesome.
When I was 10 my mom got me a Secret Sam kit and it had a full working camera, and I used it, which that got me interest in Photography. And in high school I started using 110, and 35mm as I continued my craft til today, and now I shoot street scenes, and travel documentary yes I am a shooter but at least I USE a camera 50 year old Nikons, and 60 year old RF Canons. They are not props they’re real cameras. Hey if you like to now Proctor, I have the Man from U.N.C.L.E Pen Commincator which I got it UNCLE Garage sale on EBay. Now I’m 58, and still taking photos both Film, and Digital in which I used all formats 35mm, medium and large format, process my own film, printed in both B/W, and color now I having a good feeling in scanning them. So in closing Tell the truth, retake the photo, and removed the gun.
Dan, I admit its a thin line sometimes
Hi alex,
will definitely take on board your insightful comments.
(please excuse this short email , I’m working in Stalingrad at moment, it’s 1952 and the Internet virtually non existent )
It`s me again but with a serious note, I still have a problem with this photo since it was posted back in April, and how you got some responese, but in view in what we all witness in Paris, San Bernadino, and San Francisco at where I live as the SFPD shot a Man 25 rounds because he was holding a knife, So I plead to this person – Take off the Photo and redo it, I have your seen in what you do-so are you a shooter of Photography? If your a Photo shooter, show your gear Right-but remove the Gun. I have 50 year Nikons, and Canon, and have obtain a 67 Kodak Retina SLR Reflex in which it is in perfect condition in which that I will be using it – Cameras are nice to have, and use wisely, and take good care of them. But if your going to show off with that gun, then you are not a shooter of photo-just shooting off your ego. -Think of the victims of gun violence as they think of you now. Playing a Spy? That is Hollywood-Your not Bond, and even I have a Man from Uncle Communicator for show but Yes I`m a shooter too-have been since 1972 and I use my camera gear if this film or digital artistly and docuementary. Since you have posted you from April, look of ALL the people who have shown their gear, and very proud to see that Film is still alive, and not one has a gun-Soon I will be posting MY Gear on this site soon. Please take it off the gun Please.
I will not take this post down. It is a parody post and is meant to be seen as such.
