In your bag 771, Sarah Pannell
It is about time we had a lady bag on the site, and Sarah has been kind enough to share hers with us. Check it out.
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, so better late than never, ey!
Plus I often notice the severe lack of female contribution on JCH so I feel the need to disrupt this gentleman’s club.
I’m not someone who carries around a large camera bag every day; I like to keep things simple.
Hence why I don’t have a large camera bag – I do own one but I find it cumbersome so I now generally just have a handbag with me with these smaller items tucked inside and then my Mamiya slung over my shoulder or in my handy little Kata bag if I’m going longer distances. For travel I use a crumpler haven insert, inside my larger travel bag.
So the contents below;
Film ; generally just a bunch of 120 and 35mm; colour neg (Ektar + Portra) and a little bit of B&W 35mm (t-max or tri-x)
Mamiya 7 w/ 80mm; choice camera. I shoot majority of my personal work on this – I’d be lost without her.
My olympus bros. ; Olympus XA2 + mju ii. The mju has kind of become my main point and shoot ever since i lost my flash for the XA. I carry this in my handbag at all times, but i can’t turn my back on my XA – my first ever film camera. Absolute gem.
Handheld lightmeter + cable release; these guys just come with me if i’m shooting at night.
Notebook/pen. + iPhone; self explanatory.

Thanks for sharing your bag with us Sarah. And thanks for breaking up the bromance a little bit.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
Cheers
Japancamerahunter
I’ve got those two compacts. Love the look and feel of the XA2 but I get better results with the miju. Enjoyed your website, especially the night photos.
Wicked setup and images!
Nice photos!!!
Wow that Mamiya7….. It’s a dream!!
