In your bag No: 607, Griffin Simm
We have a returnee today. Griffin has changed his bag pretty radically and also has some wonderful film porn for us all to drool over. Check it out.
I’m a repeat offender, having shared my bag on this site before. (https://japancamerahunter.com/2012/12/in-your-bag-no-353-griffin-simm/)
Since then a few things have changed up a bit. Gone is the DSLR, cheap film and even the bag.
I’m currently traveling through the Greek islands and this is my gear of choice.
– Nikon F2 Photomic w/ DP-1 Head and 50mm f/2
I have a strange ability to just have cameras fall from the sky, and this one is no exception. Someone (very nice) gave this too me in near perfect condition having bought it and never used it. I am regretting bringing this camera however, it’s so heavy!
Film shooters favourite digital camera?
– Nikon 35ti
Mmmm Matrix metering and excellent slide accuracy.
– JCH Film case
Filled with fun stuff like Kodak HAWKEYE Traffic Surveillance 2486, Ektarchrome, E100vs and more. If It’s colour, it’s in there. Featuring my favourite film labs sticker (lightleaksphoto.com) (P.S If you live in Melbourne and haven’t gone there yet, what on earth are you doing?)
– Hat & Glasses
There is far too much camera porn on this site and not enough film porn!
Here is a picture of a heap of film I got for free from a photographer who was clearing out his fridge. Not bad eh?
You can find my images here: http://japanesecityphotos.tumblr.com/
Keep up the awesome stuff JCH!
Thanks for sharing your bag and your film. That is a pretty impressive selection, you are damned lucky.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here.
Every photographer needs a hat, I need a photographers hat….great bag mate :)
What an upgrade! At this rate, your third bag will be an 8×10 field camera.
This bag strikes a chord with me.
I started out collecting compact cameras, including the 35Ti. It’s a truly great camera, especially for metering, but is notoriously failure prone. Watch out.
I then began collecting 70s rangefinders and it made sense that I would also buy an X100. I consider it a better all round camera than the RX1.
Recently, I have been heavily into manual film SLRs. I am using a F2T with DP-12 finder (AS) rather a lot lately.
I am also a borderline pathological/OCD buyer of film, including all these emulsions.
