In your bag 1156, Steven Ichikawa
Steven is a returnee from a long long time ago. But he is back, and has a completely different bag for us. Check it out.
Hello Bellamy and JCH viewers! I thought I would post an update on my bag since my original submission was from 2013 (#441).
I graduated from college so I switched over to using a smaller J Crew messenger bag. This is what I normally carry if I go out shooting for the day. I sometimes use a 5D if I run out of money for film.
-Contax TVS. Got it as a birthday gift from my roommates. I use it whenever I need automation and/or flash.
-Voigtlander Bessa L. Got it for a decent price on eBay with the Voigt 25mm snapshot skopar with it. Great for what it is.
-Ume Kayo’s “Ume-me”. I can flip through this book anytime. One of my favorites out of Japan right now.
-Martin Parr’s “Small World”. Got it for dirt cheap on amazon. Parr’s work initially didn’t resonate with me but I’ve grown to appreciate it and now he’s been a huge influence on me.
-Haruki Murakami’s “Norwegian Wood” (ノルウェイの森). Because I’m just as inspired by novels as I am by photo books.
-Kodak Gold 400. Cheap and works well.
-Marlboro Menthol Lights. Another bad habit.
-Moleskine. I don’t even use it, but I heard it’s what the cool kids have.
Well that’s it for my daily bag. If you want to see what photos I make check out:
Basically just snapshots I try and place in mini 10 photo series’.
Thanks for checking my bag out!
Thanks for sharing your bag with us again, Steven. Love seeing books in bags too.

Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag. Optimum size is 620×473. Please ensure there is a bag in the shot, unless you don’t use one. The more you can write about yourself the better, make it appealing and tell us a story. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
