In your bag 953, Christian Nilson
After a very long sojourn, Christian is back, with a very different bag. Check it out.
Hi Bellamy,
My bag has changed a lot since N° 236. A lot of other things have changed as well. I went back to digital, I deleted and re-opended my Flickr account, I was offered the opportunity to join an agency, which I took, I re-did my website twice, etc. etc. So as you can see 2 years is a long time.
The bag below, is the one I will use for an event this weekend, it’s a Swiss wrestling festival (a bit like sumo), they call it Schwingen. The goal is to shoot for a long-term project I’m working on, about how I as a foreigner see Switzerland. In addition to my digital camera I’m also using a 4×5 for this project. Hopefully one day I will be able to make it into a book. Now to the bag; It’s a Domke F-1x, which I have not had for very long, but it feels so much lighter than my previous Billingham Hadley Pro but still holds more gear.
In (and on) the bag I have:
1 Manfrotto tripod with head (for the 4×5)
1 Toyo 45CF
1 Schneider Kreuznach Super-Angulon 8/90 MC
1 Polaroid holder (mod. 401)
4 4×5 film holders from Toyo
1 5x loupe
1 Sekonic Twinmate L-208
1 Leica M with grip
1 Elmarit-M 28mm (mounted)
1 Ving V850 flash (this is amazing, the only “small” flashgun with a proper battery, I can only recommend it)
1 flash sync cable
1 Seagate external drive for back-ups
But most important piece of gear is the tube of Eucerin Aquaphor, nothing helps better after a sweaty 8h of walking around.
If I’m only out on the street for a couple of hours, I tend to just take the M and the flash without a bag, makes things much more convenient.
So for my work, it can be found here:

Hope you enjoy the bag and keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Chris
Thanks for sharing your bag with us again, Christian. Very interesting to see how it has changed.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
Cheers
