In your bag 790, Ottavo Oblimar
A bit later than usual, todays bag comes rolling in from the Philippines. Ottavo brings us a simple and very cool bag. Check out those flip flops.

Hi my name is Ottavo Oblimar and I’m a senior visual communications student from Manila, Philippines.
I first became interested in photography about 5 years ago, but due to my busy college life it was just something I did whenever I had spare time.
Just recently, I had the great idea of purchasing a film camera and this sparked my renewed interest in photography. Today, I’m back on the street doing what I love most (after my girlfriend) and building up my street photography blog. Take a look at what I bring to the city on weekends for street shooting:

BOB_2847-2

-A regular Jansport backpack to blend in with the crowd and avoid being a target of Manila’s nasty pickpockets

-Tupperware container as my temporary film case ( I’m saving up to buy a JCH film case)

-My first film camera, the Nikon FM2 which I got for 4,800 pesos (100 USD),with a NIkkor 50mm 1.8D attached

-My trusty Fuji X100 (which sometimes doubles as my light meter)

-Some film. Mostly Fuji Superia 400, expired Fujis and Kodaks. A couple of Tri-X 400’s when I have money to buy them

-Pen, spare battery and memory cards

-Lastly, my umbrella and a pair of flip flops for the unpredictable Philippine weather. You never know when you’re gonna be knee-deep in flood water.

That’s about it. I look forward to showing you guys my future bag. Hopefully this time it will have a Bronica or a Rollei TLR or maybe even a Leica. (wishful thinking!)

Thanks for sharing your bag with us Ottavo. Glad to hear that getting into film reignited the spark for you.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.

Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.

Cheers
