In your bag 509, Ben Vine
This bag is awesome! Classic gear, classic film and a real gung-ho attitude make this a fantastic bag. I love the layout too. Definitely one of my favourites. Check it out.
So here they are at last: the contents of my bag. My trusty Olympus MjuII, in my opinion the finest compact camera of them all. Most of the best pictures I’ve taken I’ve shot with this just because it’s ALWAYS in my pocket. Then there’s my Pen FT, the smallest SLR I’ve got, the only problem is patience because I’ve got to shoot 72 photos before I can see the results. Pocket Coffee’s in there too. Ever tried it? It’s like a proper italian expresso inside a chocolate…what a brilliant idea.
And an array of different films for all occasions, some expired Ektachrome, both tungsten and daylight, and a roll of delicious Provia 400 which I reserve for my Hexar, the stealth camera for street photography: you can look a policeman right in the face as you shoot a picture of him without him even realizing (if that’s the kind of stuff you’re into). I’ve never seen (or heard) such a quiet camera in my life.
Then there’s the weight on my back: the Hasselblad 500 C/M with its Planar 80mm. The Canon 600’s only there as a light meter (yeah, I’ve gotten kinda lazy nowadays, it’s just so easy to take a peek trough your digital to get an idea of what the shot’ll be like, but once I know the speed and aperture the Hassy’s there to get the PROPER shot).
Of course I’m not gonna feed it any old shit: nothing but the best for my Hassie: expired Provia’s just like a good wine, its beauty peaks after its sell-by date. And in case I’m short of light there’s some Fuji Pro400, some multi-a.s.a. Fuji 120 (anything from 100-1000) and a roll of SFX200 which I still haven’t tried out (hence the red filter) and a spare Hassie back so I can switch films half stream. Oh yeah, let’s not forget the Proxar 0,5 filter without which you just can’t get closer than 0,9! Watch out Madrid, you might get shot!
Thanks for sharing your bag with us Ben, I wish that you had put some links with it though, I am sure people would like to see your work. Cracking setup though. I really love this one.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here.
Cheers
