Her responses are really interesting! If you check her links below, I would say the majority of her work is in color, yet all the responses above were black and white photos. She commented when sending me these, “I find it very interesting that I did not come up with a sincere sequence in color or color & bw…Although most probably if I do this tomorrow it will be in color and totally different.” I really found this great! The idea that it would be different, in that her responses (that is her editing) are an art in itself. And that really is the point of these interviews. Anybody can take great shots and social media platforms encourage this, but I personally always felt the pinnacle of photography is the photo book, which certainly draws from the fact that I learned photography amongst the Japanese Shinjuku based photo circles/galleries where this was the focus. But I love her sentiment as it reflects perfectly what I wanted these interviews to be. Check her links below:
