Came across Jill’s work shared on Instagram through a previous visual interviewee, Chuck Patch. It was an image of an artificial world that when you spend a moment with it realize it must be a zoo. Then I checked out her other work, and you get these images of other artificial worlds: state fairs, historical sites, and urban gathering areas that were contrived with such a plasticity that their details are almost absurd…a sentiment that Jill through her photography makes surreal coupled with her use of every bit of frame space and heightened colors.
