In your bag No: 603, Jason Zeis
Check it out, Jason is only 14 but he is rocking a cool bag. Shooting since 10 years old too! With a Rollei! Wow, that is pretty awesome. Come and find out a bit more about this young shooter.
Hey everyone! My name is Jason Zeis (gah, if only I had one more s), I am a 14 year old photographer living in San Diego. I like to shoot the streets, and anything that catches my eye! I have been taking pictures avidly since the age of 10, introduced by my grandfather, who has been an incredible mentor. (and who also is loaning me the Rolleiflex!)
Gear:
Chrome Niko Camera Pack
Canon 550D
EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS
GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition
Rolleiflex 3.5f
(SD cards, film, batteries, GradeSelect stickers, etc.)
I bought the Niko Camera Pack for a few reasons, the most important being weatherproofing, this bag is a tough one. Second, it has a very discrete profile, and it just looks like a backpack! I like to try to keep it simple with my gear, too much stuff and I get distracted. My 550D and 17-55 have served me well for the past few years, great for photos, and videos. And finally, what you all are waiting for, the Rolleiflex. This is my Grandfathers Rolleiflex, his brother “won it at a pool game” and gave it to him as an adult. I still have my first roll in it, so I’m not sure as how the pictures look, but everything appears to be working great.

Thanks, and Cheers everyone!
Thanks for sharing your gear with us Jason. Your grandfather is a pretty awesome guy for doing that, you are very lucky. Hope the first roll comes out fine.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here.
Cheers

That’s a great set up. Rollei and a DSLR gives great creative range. Bottom line is I’ve checked out your tumblr and you make decent photos. If I could offer my (much) younger self any advice it would be to copy the greats till you can make images that could pass for theirs, then find your own unique style.
Rolleiflexen are the best loan/bequest a person can get. I am shooting a 2.8E that my father-in-law gave me the day before a cancer surgery, thinking he was dying. I’m glad to say he is recovered and cancer-free, and in appreciation I have hauled the Rolleiflex around the country shooting pix of his little grandchildren. Use your granddad’s one in good health and make him proud. The slower the film, the better. You will find it addictive.
Hello everyone!
I just want to thank all of you for your support and advice, it really means a lot!
And yes Bellamy, my grandfather is an awesome guy, he really inspires me to just get out and shoot!
Thanks and Cheers,
Jason Zeis
Oh God, you’re so lucky! :))))
I think our future is in good hands. Stay with it Jason!
