In your bag 407, Nuno Cruz
Todays bag is nice because it is about revisiting a place you used to know, which is something I like to do from time to time. Come and have a look at this great bag.

I recently got in touch with your blog via the famous Eric Kim and the interview he did with you, and since then I started to follow your site. I particularly like the what’s in your bag series and because of that I decided to contribute as well.

My name is Nuno Cruz and I am a computer geek from Portugal, currently working and living in Amsterdam. This Christmas I am visiting my family and I’ll have the opportunity to visit the city that I love so much, Porto. There I did my university studies during 5.7 years and explored all the corners, met a lot of people and had a lot of adventures.

I never had the opportunity to capture Porto and its people in a way that satisfied me, in the past I had only a point and shoot and I knew nothing about photography, but since then my shooting skills have evolved and I am not missing this chance, so it’s time to pack my bag and shoot Porto streets and its people!

A bit more than 1 year ago I had a big step into photography by acquiring a new camera, I ditched my point and shoot to change to a micro four thirds camera, the Panasonic GF1 with the Lumix G 20mm. This change really made me into photography, the will to learn how to shoot my life, add that to the fact that I left my country and I wanted to document the trip, the places that I have been to. I read and watched a lot of videos. Recently my gear evolved a bit and the love for photography made me enter the film world, this lead to the gear that I carry now and to the bag that I am taking to this trip.

In my bag(Think tank Retrospective 5):

Shoulder strap with gliding screw

Olympus OM-D E-M5

Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7

Olympus Zuiko 12mm f/2.0

Light tripod

Olympus OM-1

Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4

36 exposure Portra 400 (2x)

I include my phone here, because I always shot digital all my life and because of that I have no experience in measuring light and calculating exposure values, so I downloaded an app that will help me with that.

I am really eager to get to Porto and start to shoot, I love to capture the world the way I see it and share it with others, so you are invited to visit my flickr page and leave some comments.

Thanks for sharing your bag and your thoughts with us Nuno. Glad to see you have been inspired to revisit somewhere ans shoot.
