In your bag 1090, Alex Tran
Alex is back after a very long time away and he has a Frankencamera too. Check it out.
How are you doing? It’s been a few years since my last submission (#268) and I figured you’d like to see what I’ve been up to today.
My name is Alex Tran and I’m 23 years old from the Greater Boston Area. I am currently a Hardware Development Engineer at a medical device company. Since I work a desk job full-time, photography has become one of my creative outlets. I shoot a variety of things from street to cityscape photography, and I’ve also dabbled in portraits.
When I submitted my last bag, I was a newborn in film photography. Now, I’m much more experienced with film and I’m loving every bit of it! I’d like to show you my bag from my recent trip to good ol’ San Francisco.
Herschel Heritage Backpack: A great looking backpack complete with a Golden Gate Bridge keychain! I also have an interior camera insert in the bag to store and organize my photo gear.
Canonet QL17 GIII in Black: Ok, I lied. It’s really a silver QL17 GIII with black top/bottom caps salvaged from a broken black QL17. So really it’s a black/silver hybrid. I have a collection of 70’s compact rangefinders and the Canonet is by far my favorite of the bunch. It has great image quality and can be shot in full-manual mode.
Fujifilm X100S w/ Gordy Camera Strap: An all-around great mirrorless digital camera. And with the retro rangefinder style, it fulfills my analog cravings when I’m out of film to shoot!
Accessories: Some rolls of Fuji Superia X-tra 400 film, Lenspen, Minolta Auto 14 external flash, and a Gorillapod Hybrid for night shooting.
Thanks Bellamy, hope all is well across the globe!
Thanks for sharing your bag with us again, Alex. I am loving that QL17.

Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
