In your bag 1058, Érico Salutti
Today we delve inside the bag of a pro. Érico has some serious fancy gear, but still manages to squeeze a film camera in the bag. Check it out.
Cheers people! Here is Érico Salutti, bokeh addicted photographer based in Brazil. I’m working since 1999, started on analogic era and shooting with 35mm film since then. Back at the day my first rig was Minolta (I still keep and use the neck strap that came with my Maxxum – the easiest strap to adjust and most confortable that I ever found), then switched to Nikon and later to Canon. Went to digital in 2003 with the 2MP hybrid Canon EOS 1N plus Kodak DCS 520 digital back, but as stated before I always keep analog rig and used it a lot.
I did a lot of sports covering for hard news agency during the first decade of 2000’s, prime working with motorsports. Nowadays I work with photo also videography using DSLRs, mainly shooting on music/arts enviroments, but I still shoot racing from time to time.
For my professional needs analog film is really outdated, but all my personal projects I keep on film. I also carry only analog cameras during my personal trips in order to shoot only the essencial and enjoy my time as much as possible (all I think it was interesting I shoot on film), on my professional trips I always have an analog camera with me too. I have a mobile darkroom able to develop all my B&W films.
Have a great selection of glasses to fit my work imprevisibility (some times large arenas, some others small clubs), but I’m unable to carry it all. So I choose and pick up depending on my needs. I have some zoom lenses, but I believe that primes brings more quality to my work, making I move instead of zoom in and out, so I use my primes as much as possible, going for zoom only if I have no choice. Here it is my most used rig:
Canon EOS 3
Canon EOS 6D
Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L USM
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM
Canon Extender EF 1.4x II
Hoya PL-CIR Filter
Rode VideoMic Pro Compact Shotgun Microphone
Press Fashion Now Bomb Bag on the field (Vivitar Backpack and Canon hard case during transportation)
Lens Cleaner kit
Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses
iPhone 5 with LifeProof case (I use Film Rolls app to keep infos about my analog shots and the iOS compass to find the sun direction)
Citizen Eco-Drive Nighthawk Caliber B877 Wristwatch (to track my time)
Other items not shown are: Backup EOS 6D and Elan 7E bodies. GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition. EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. Canon 420EX and 430EX II. Manfrotto 546B + 504HD head. Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4 (4 units).

Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions.
