In your bag 1017, Colin Wong
Colin shares with us another really cool back from San Francisco. I am really starting to think I need to visit there soon. Check it out.

Hello, I’m Colin.

I’m from San Francisco and I’ve been shooting for about 5-6 years now. I shoot because it’s fun, really fun. It started in high school when I took a film photography class just because I was running out of classes to sign up for. After high school, I stayed at a crappy job to save up for my first DSLR. Over the years, I’ve tried a bunch of different cameras and that’s really helped me discover what works best for me. There are still so many cameras I dream of shooting with. Right now I use the following:

Topo Designs Rover Pack – I recently bought this backpack because I think it looks nice and it’s the perfect size for my cameras and school stuff. I also bought a cheap camera insert on Amazon that fits perfectly. I typically carry one film camera along with the X100.

Fujifilm X100 – This is probably my favorite and least favorite digital camera. It’s weird and slow, but it’s compact and sharp. I’ve pretty much abandoned my 7D since buying this camera.

Yashica Mat 124G – I love medium format because of this camera. I didn’t really enjoy my experience with a Mamiya 645 in the past, but this camera is so much fun to shoot with.

Canonet QL17 – The “Poor Man’s Leica” describes this camera pretty well. I used to own an M6, but couldn’t afford to keep it. As cool as this camera is, I don’t shoot with this that often anymore. I’d like to buy another Contax G1 after selling mine.

Polaroid SX-70 – It’s expensive to shoot with, but it’s fun. It’s also the camera that draws the most attention in public.

JCH Cases – 35mm/120. I shoot mostly Portra and various slide film, as well as Kodak Gold because it’s super cheap.

Apple Macbook Air – I’m still in school studying graphic design, so this is pretty important.

Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal, 720px across is optimal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
Cheers
