In your bag 874, Tom Freeland
Today there is no bag in sight. Tom keeps it really simple, just some film and a very nice camera. Come and check it out.
First I must say I’m a loyal fan of Japan Camera Hunter. Your website has gotten me through the last year of my photography career. I just love getting up every morning and checking to see what camera’s you have posted.
I’m a big lover of all things film so I find it really inspiring.
Today I am sharing with you my every day carry. When I’m out shooting projects for myself or shooting street I like to keep things light. So, I only carry my Contax IIIa, with a 50mm 1.5f Zeiss Sonnar lens, and a few rolls of film in my pocket. I love this camera because it is simple, light, and has amazing glass. The 50mm is a great focal length for street photo. I would like to add a few more lenses to this camera. It’s just a matter of finding them.
For my commercial photography I do shoot digital because that is what the market demands. But when ever possible I try to persuade my clients to let me shoot with my Contax or a Rollei T1.
Thanks so much for letting me share. If you would like to see some of my work your can check it out at http://www.tomfreelandphotography.com
Thanks for sharing your setup with us, Tom. That Contax is a beauty.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.
