In your bag 772, Dominik Schmitt
Time for a young shooters bag. Dominik is only 18 but he has already been bitten by the film bug. Come and check out his setup.

Hello Bellamy and Hello world!

My name is Dominik Schmitt, I live in Heilbronn, I’m 18 years old and in my last schoolyear. I really enjoy photography, everyday since 2 years.  When I started shooting film 1 year ago, I just fell in love… printing and processing may be as much awesome as shooting..

Sometimes I shoot street, but not mainly..

Lets come to my bag:

Billingham Hadley Pro:

Love this bag. It’s a christmas present from my parents, so it has some special value for me. Performs well on the street, and works as a camera bag and everyday-freetime-bag.

Contax G1+Biogon 28mm f/2.8:

My main camera. I really try to have it with me as often as possible, and I really enjoy the rangefinder looks and qualities.

The lens is amazing, sharpness and contrast just play in the Zeiss-standards; 28mm because it’s wider and it was available at the moment so I got this one.

Polaroid Land Camera Model 340:

I really liked Polaroid since I started to get interested in photography. The instant-pleasures with every picture and the system really catched my attention.

Film:

For 135 i mainly shoot b+w. films I really like to use are Tri-X and FP4. I try to experiment with high iso film in the last few weeks, so I have a Delta 3200 with me at the moment..

For Instant I use Fuji FP-100C because it’s still available. Nice film, nice colors.

Cable Release:

Sometimes I take it with me just in case…

Hoods and Caps

Wallet

That’s pretty much all I carry with me when I go out shooting. I hope you enjoyed what you have seen.

Thanks for sharing your bag with us Dominik. Good to hear you are enjoying shooting film, keep it up.
Check out the links and make sure you come and comment.

Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here. Please understand that there is a long wait now as there is a backlog of submissions. Not all make the cut, so make sure yours is funny/interesting/quirky. And please make sure the shot is of good quality, as the ones that are not do not go up.

Cheers

Hello dominik, you’re young but it seems you know what you want very well. I like your photostream on flickr; it reaminds me me some years ago ;).
Keep shooting and have a look at the works of the “big” photographers (that’s a very important thing, you will see things different at a certain point). I’d like to suggest you some names you could find in public library or book-shop (or the bay): William Eggleston, Wim Wenders (“One Time”), Ralph Gibson, Michael Ackerman. There are many others but that’s my pick looking at your style.
Cheers ;)
