In your bag No: 568, Andy Forbes
Hopefully everything is back on track now and we are ready to roll with another bag. And what a bag. Any brings us this gorgeous setup, rolling with some very cool film.

My name is Andy Forbes and have been shooting film since I was 8 years old and started using a darkroom when I was 10. I spent 40 years in the Royal Navy and took early retirement when I hit 55 so as to spend each and everyday photographing or in my darkroom. I live on the beach on the South Coast of England in the Dungeness area.

I shoot film 98% of the time and mainly Eastman Motion Picture film – Eastman Double-X (5222). My daily bag is a soft leather one that my wife got for me, in a local market, on a visit to her parents in France. The cameras are a Leica M2 and an MP. I prefer shooting with the 40mm lenses, a Summicron-C 40/2 and the Voigtländer Nokton 40/1.4 SC. I use incident metering.

Always in my shirt/jacket pocket is a Ricoh GR1v. More about me on my web site ‘Filmus-Monochromus‘ or on my daily Blog on Tumblr.”

Thanks Bellamy and I have just ordered a couple of those gorgeous black film cases.

Kind regards,

Andy

Great work, Andy, and a wonderful website, which I didn’t know about.

I love the Dungeness area, especially winter-time, and I share your passion of black and white film.

Thanks for a good post. Made my day!

Andy has been very kind, often ‘liking’ photos of mine on my tumblr. I really enjoy his photos and the lifestyle they portray, including a lot of darkroom activity! Great to see his bag on this site.

Cheers, Andy!
