In your bag 379, Simon Chong
The first bag of 2013 and what a bag it is. Simon shares this delightful setup with us from (not very)sunny Scotland. Come and have a look at the first bag of the year.
My name is Simon and i am a student living and studying business in Edinburgh, Scotland. I shoot a mixture of landscape, long exposures and recently some street photography. The bag i have here is a unbranded bag which i bought whilst on holiday in Hong Kong. I don’t carry much in my bag as the bag is pretty small so it doesn’t allow my to take much around.
Up until recently i have been shooting with Canon DSLR’s for the past 5 years until i decided to purchase an old fed 3b which introduced me into film photography. Since then i have sold my canon gear and purchased a Fuji x100 which i shoot 80% of the time. The fuji was initially used as a second camera with my old Canon 7d but i enjoyed shooting with the x100 more than i did with the DSLR gear due to the compact size of it i could carry it around all day without much effort. The strap on the x100 is a BlackRapid R strap which i borrowed off a mate of mine recently.
I also use a Minolta hi-matic F which i sometimes pair with a Lomography Fritz the Blitz flash gun for any low light/indoor shots. I tend to shoot Ilford XP2, Delta 100 and the occasional Fujifilm Velvia/Provia with the Minolta. This camera is my street shooter due to the compact size of it and it’s rather non threatening with the flash gun removed.
Another camera in my bag which i recently acquired is a Polaroid EE100, It’s still on its first pack of Fuji FP-100c for now
but i am tempted to put a pack of Fuji FP-3000b through it soon to see what it would be like to shoot street with a polaroid for the fun of it.
So here are my bag contents
Minolta Hi-matic F with a Lomography Fritz the Blitz flashgun.
Macbook Air 11 inch for editing on the go.
