In your bag No: 355 – Ebb

In your bag 355, Ebb
Got a cool bag for you today. All the way from Mongolia! That’s right, Mongolia. Cool huh? Ebb has a great set up for us to see. Check it out.

Hi, I’m Ebb. I’m a 17 year old photography fanatic, born and raised (mostly) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I’m an international student, I’ve studied in the US, Germany and Singapore but now I’m back in Mongolia in high school with a fiery passion. I’m completely self taught, and with a couple of friends I shoot film, likely being the last few film photographers in Mongolia.

My passion for film photography was sparked when I first bought a old russian soviet film camera from one of the flea markets here, and ever since I’ve been obsessed. I’ve come a long way since then, with a wide collection of cameras I’ve acquired over time. From polaroid cameras to russian lomography cameras to high end Leica and Hasselblad. I admit JCH has given me quite a bad case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). I am definite on studying photography in college and furthering my knowledge and skills. For now, here is my camera bag.

- Zkin Champ

- Leica M3 (1960) with Summicron 50mm f/2 Rigid and Voigtlander VC Meter II.

- Hasselblad 500C/M with Carl Zeiss 80mm Planar T*

- Olympus OM-2 with Zuiko 28mm f/2.8

- Lomo LC-Wide with cheap-o flash

- Polaroid SX-70 (Alpha 1 Model 2)

- Extra rolls/packs of film

I recently got the Leica, Hasselblad and Lomo during a trip to Hong Kong, because film photography equipment here is nowhere to be found. The M3 is my dream camera, and with the original lens it is without a doubt my favorite and my go-to camera. The OM-2 is also a great camera that I love using, especially with the wide lens it is a fantastic set up to take with me. The Hassy needs to get more attention, I haven’t gotten to use it much since there isn’t a place that will develop 120 film here and I can’t get my hands on any developing equipment. The lomo is another great camera I love using, I like to sometimes relax and take snapshots with this. The SX-70 is also a fantastic camera, and I reserve it for special moments because again the film isn’t readily available here. And of course, extra rolls/packs of film when needed.

I really hope the photography scene here steps up its game, because the limitations here are restricting what I can and can’t do. However, I don’t exclusively shoot film, I have a Canon 7D with a Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 which I took the shot with. I really love film, and I know that other people do too and that’s why I #believeinfilm.

You can find me and my shots on these networks.
