In your bag number 213, Olivier Sylvestre
Todays bag shot is picture intensive. Olivier goes in depth with the pics and shows us exactly what he has in his bag. Come and see this lovely bag shot.
My name is Olivier Sylvestre and I’m from Montréal, Québec, the nicest province of Canada! I’m a proud French speaker, 17yo and I’m in for the next three years in studying photography at the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal.
I only shoot film at the moment, it will eventually change since my school asks for a decent DSLR, but Tri-X is my true love. I mainly shoot black and white film that I develop and print in my basement.
I like to call myself a street photographer. I still have a lot to learn, but I think I’m getting pretty skilled at it.
Enough said about me, here’s my camera bag:
I got my bag from the FourCornerStore, it is a german military bag replica. It is light and durable and it looks nice.
I keep in it my main shooter: a Minolta CLE with a M-Rokkor 40mm lens. The best photography investment I made in my life. I shoot Tri-X through it that I roll myself from 100ft rolls.
I also have in my bag plenty of film, Tri-X as I said, Portra, Ektar and Fuji Reala.
I always keep a nice book with me, this is Stephen King’s Running Man, awesome book. If you liked Hunger Games, this is the real thing, written in the 80’s.
Along with all that I keep a bottle of water, an old vintage strap that I almost never use with that camera, a small electronic flash that once belonged to my father, spare batteries just in case the CLE doesn’t die, a pen and some paper.
I’m currently looking for a project to fulfill, anything that could be done on the streets. With the students’ general strike in Québec, I’ll have plenty of time to shoot!
Thanks for sharing this great bag with us Olivier, I love the CLE and I love seeing one in someones bag.
