In your bag number 135, Emma Ritson
Well, the bag feature has been pretty heavily male dominated in the past, though this is not by my making. But today we have the rare opportunity to glimpse inside a lady’s bag….
My name is Emma Ritson, I live on the gold coast. Queensland, Australia.
Today I had a quiet afternoon so I thought i’d clean out my bag.. one thing lead to another, and I photographed it and its contents.
my bag is a Enzorossi canvas messenger bag, comfortable and stylish. There is a lot of girly crap in there (more than I put on display) but also my Leica 11f, and well used now, voightlander 50mm color-skopar. other lenses i carry are my 50mm canon f1.8 and my way wayyy under rated leica Hektor 135mm.
I am a qualified watchmaker, and i rebuilt this camera myself, but it took a lot of hours and a lot of help. new covering, CLA and new curtains. maybe one day ill do the same to an M3!
the case was made by a local ebay seller.
usually i have another camera too, today my Nikormat ftn and series H 50mm f2 lens. i love this camera, but it does have a clunky mirror, and like all slr’s i have to sacrifice a stop to get sharp piccies. its also not fun to change the ASA on this camera.
film is anything I can get hold of cheap, if I pay good money for film it is probably kodak Ektar 100 or ilford fp4+.
the light meter is a hotshoe one, a sekonic. dependable and not to heavy.
I love watching out for updates in this series, i hope the mobile phone picture is good enough.
and my flickr stream is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/missemmajade/ if anyone has time to waste!!
Emma, this is brilliant. And the fact that you repaired your own camera puts a lot of us to shame. It is fantastic to see inside your bag and I hope this encourages more ladies to go ahead and show us their bags too.
Keep them coming folks, we need more submissions, so get your bag on Japancamerahunter.com. Send me a hi resolution image of the bag (please make sure it is horizontal) and its contents, with some details about yourself and what you shoot. Oh and don’t forget your contact details (twitter, flickr, tumbler et al). Send the bag shots here.
